The Role
Join AAvantgarde Bio as our Associate Medical Affairs Director and lead the charge in advancing ophthalmological research and treatments. You'll be at the forefront of medical innovation collaborating with diverse teams and building strong connections with healthcare professionals patient partnership organizations and industry partners. In this pivotal role you'll be the linchpin for our medical affairs strategy guiding it to align perfectly with our corporate goals.
We seek a dynamic individual to cultivate and maintain relationships with medical experts and manage advisory boards. You'll support the development and execution of our medical strategies in ophthalmology staying ahead of scientific advancements and competitive landscapes. Your expertise will drive decisionmaking and ensure our initiatives are both cuttingedge and compliant with regulatory standards.
As a key player in AAvantgarde Bio you'll act as our internal medical expert offering invaluable guidance across clinical development regulatory affairs and more. You’ll be instrumental in the entire spectrum of medical affairs activities—from advisory boards to scientific conferences and educational programs. Your leadership will also be crucial in developing scientific publications abstracts and presentations to share our clinical data and research findings with the world.

Skills and experience required
We are seeking a seasoned professional with a proven track record of leadership and project management in developing and executing medical affairs strategies for ophthalmology products. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment demonstrating adaptability and a solutionoriented mindset when facing challenges. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders is essential.
A thorough understanding of international regulations for drug product development and registration is required along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management abilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills are crucial for fostering collaboration across functional teams. Experience in a startup environment is highly desirable.
The candidate should possess a Medical Doctor (MD) PharmD Optometry or PhD degree and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in medical affairs leadership roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry focusing on ophthalmology.
