Job Title: Senior Oracle Performance Engineer Hybrid
Location: Austin TX
Note: Candidates with State or Federal Experience Required.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Performance Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in Austin TX requiring onsite presence one day per week (Wednesdays) and remote work for the rest of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate application system and ecosystem performance across multiple tiers with a focus on the data tier in both cloud and onprem environments.
- Identify performance and scalability bottlenecks propose solutions and implement fixes.
- Simulate user/system traffic measure evaluate and analyze system behavior.
- Optimize code queries and system configurations to improve response time scalability and resource efficiency.
- Analyze and interpret Oracle wait events AWR Raw data trace files and correlate insights with system behavior.
- Generate and analyze AWR ASH and ADDM reports.
- Predict system behavior under full load/stress based on representative loads.
- Present complex analysis findings and performance metrics to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for performance issues.
- Forecast future performance needs based on application usage trends and growth projections.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in analyzing and optimizing application performance.
- Expertise in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- 8 years of experience in Oracle wait interface and event analysis.
- Experience in tuning large Oracle databases (50 TB) in AWS.
- Handson experience with Oracle Exadata databases and clusters.
- Strong SQL tuning Linux shell scripting and session tracing skills.
- Proficiency in generating and analyzing AWR ASH ADDM reports.
- Ability to predict and extrapolate system behavior under different loads.
- Experience troubleshooting performance issues and optimizing database performance.
- Excellent technical writing documentation and diagramming skills (Visio Erwin MS Office Suite).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Other Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience using JIRA for tracking and managing development tasks.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- Prior experience working with healthcare data PII/PHI and HL7.
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid position: 4 days remote 1 day onsite (Wednesdays) in Austin TX.
- Must be local to Austin TX.
- May be required to work outside normal business hours on weekends/evenings as needed.
