Asset Management Engineer

Job Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
This role is pivotal in establishing maintaining and enhancing our asset management program with a particular emphasis on leveraging ServiceNows Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The ideal candidate will have a robust background in IT asset management and will be instrumental in developing our asset management strategy from the ground up.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and Implement Asset Management Program: Design develop and implement an IT asset management program that aligns with business objectives ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
ServiceNow CMDB Maintenance: Manage and maintain the CMDB within ServiceNow ensuring data accuracy integrity and completeness. This includes regular audits updates and reconciliation activities.
Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets from procurement through to disposal including tracking maintenance and lifecycle management.
Policy and Procedure Development: Create and enforce policies procedures and documentation related to asset management ensuring all practices are uptodate with technological advancements and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various departments like procurement IT and finance to ensure asset data is accurate and supports decisionmaking processes.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on asset utilization compliance and performance. Use analytics to drive improvements in asset management practices.
Training and Support: Train staff on asset management processes and tools particularly ServiceNow to ensure consistent use and understanding across the organization.
Vendor Management: Work with external vendors to manage software licenses hardware maintenance agreements and other assetrelated contracts.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Participate in oncall rotation.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
At least 5 years of experience in IT asset management.
Proven track record of building an asset management program from scratch.
3 years of handson experience with ServiceNow specifically with CMDB.
Experience with ITIL frameworks and asset lifecycle management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in data management with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
Proficiency in SQL or other database querying languages is a plus.
Excellent presentation skills and an ability to engage audiences.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Superior problemsolving ability.
Exceptional analytical statistical quantitative and deduction skills.
Ability to act independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to build relationships and work well across functions.
Experience in a collaborative team environment delegating workload and responsibilities.
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification or higher a bonus but not required.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or higher a bonus but not required
