Job Description
Ideally the candidate should have 510 years of experience they do not want someone with 15. Do not submit a candidate with that much experience. Must have very good communication skills be local (no relocation) ideal candidate would also have a MS degree from a solid USA school.
Overview: SMBC is seeking an experienced Java Developer for a contract position within our Capital Market IT Development Team. The ideal candidate will have strong backend Java development skills experience with OTC Derivatives systems and a basic understanding of the DTCC Alert system. This role involves connecting our existing trading systems to the DTCC alert system and addressing a critical gap in our project. The contract has the potential to extend or convert to a fulltime role based on performance and team fit.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an interface system between DTCC and multiple internal trading systems.
- Collaborate with the Capital Market IT Development Team to enhance and maintain backend infrastructure.
- Work independently to address system integration issues and provide technical solutions.
- Engage with project teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with DTCC Alert systems.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues that arise during development ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
Candidate Requirements:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong backend Java development experience.
- Solid understanding of OTC derivatives trading systems and workflows.
- Familiarity with the DTCC Alert system is a very big plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Java development and financial systems.
- Candidates with 10 years of experience are welcome provided they demonstrate strong coding skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
