Full-time Laboratory Technician - training will be provided

No experience necessary and training will be provided!  

Our East Syracuse NY laboratory is looking for a fulltime Laboratory Technician to join their team! The Laboratory Technician will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS SOPs. The Laboratory Technician works independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. The Laboratory Technician ensures best quality through adherence to all policies procedures and quality verifications. The Laboratory Technician always follows safe laboratory practices and maintains a safe working environment.

Job functions:

• After appropriate training independently prepares samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Performs routine operation maintenance calibration of preparation instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• May conduct noninterpretive sample analysis and draft analytical reports.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adheres to internal standards policies and procedures.
• Performs all required quality verifications ensuring best quality.
• Monitors inventory levels of chemicals and consumables ensuring appropriate levels at all times.
• Ensures all chemicals are labelled appropriately required personal protective equipment is worn consistently and all safety precautions are followed.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent and prior general working experience (Required)
• Associates Degree in a Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and 12 years of relevant laboratory experience (Preferred)
• Proficient English language skills (Required)
• Basic reasoning and mathematical skills (Required)
• Basic computer skills (Required)
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lb on a frequent basis (Required)

This position offers a fulltime schedule MF 8:00am5:00pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to support and learn about different departments within a professional laboratory.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 $22.00 per hour (dependent on experience).  This position is eligible for overtime pay.
