About the Role
As a Quality Director you will set the strategic vision for quality and food safety across the organization. Your leadership will ensure that all quality programs comply with regulatory standards and align with business objectives. You will oversee the Quality team manage compliance with industry certifications and drive process improvements to maintain the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the companys quality and food safety strategy to support business goals
- Ensure full compliance with FDA USDA FSMA and other relevant food safety regulations
- Oversee HACCP SQF and GMP programs ensuring continuous audit readiness and certification maintenance
- Partner with research and development operations and supply chain teams to improve product quality and compliance
- Lead investigations into quality incidents implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence
- Establish key performance indicators for quality performance and provide regular reports to senior management
- Ensure that all raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers meet company standards
- Identify areas for improvement and lead projects that enhance food safety and product consistency
- Represent the company in customer and thirdparty audits ensuring a strong reputation for quality excellence
- Mentor and develop the Quality team while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Science Microbiology Chemistry or a related field
- Minimum ten years of experience in quality assurance or food safety with at least five years in a leadership role
- Expertise in food safety regulations including FDA USDA FSMA and industry certifications such as SQF BRC HACCP FSVP and PCQI
- Proven ability to develop and implement companywide quality strategies
- Strong leadership communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in spice manufacturing or complex food processing environments
- Handson experience with supplier qualification and risk assessments
- Background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to manage largescale audits and compliance programs
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software
