Job Description
We are seeking a Laboratory Technologist for a travel/contract position in NY. Accepting both local and traveler candidates.
Location: Norwich NY 13815
Payrate: $56/hour
Contract Length: 13 week contract
Work Schedule & Details:
- Shift: 8hour Nights (Sunday Thursday).
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Locals Accepted: Candidates within 50 miles will be considered at local pay rates.
Position Overview:
The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires expertise in clinical testing quality control and laboratory instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests in Chemistry Hematology Microbiology and Blood Bank using advanced techniques.
- Perform testing using VITROS Chemistry analyzers and Ortho MTS Gel method in Blood Bank.
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and reporting of laboratory results.
- Analyze and interpret test results ensuring accuracy and compliance with laboratory standards.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety infection control and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic support.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- Grandfathered NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist (if applicable).
- One (1) year of experience working in a clinical laboratory.
License & Certification:
- NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Required).
- ASCP Specialty Certification
Skills & Proficiency:
- Experience with Blood Bank testing using Ortho MTS Gel.
- Knowledge of Chemistry with VITROS analyzers.
- Proficiency in EPIC laboratory systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
