Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Computer Science intern with a strong foundation in AI Generative AI (GenAI) and Machine Learning (ML) to join our team for the summer. The selected candidate will work on developing intelligent agents that integrate with large language models (LLMs) and other AI tools to support our developers. This role will involve creating tools for accessing knowledge bases automating data processing and improving workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to design and develop intelligent agents leveraging LLMs and AI frameworks.
- Integrate tools with internal knowledge bases and streamline developer access to critical information.
- Develop and optimize data processing pipelines for realtime and batch processing tasks.
- Conduct research on stateoftheart AI/ML/GenAI methodologies and recommend best practices for implementation.
- Test evaluate and refine prototypes to ensure scalability and usability.
- Document development processes and present progress to stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science or a related field.
- Completion of coursework in AI Generative AI Machine Learning or related subjects.
- Proficiency in Python with experience in libraries like TensorFlow PyTorch or Hugging Face.
- Familiarity with LLMs and APIs (e.g. OpenAI LangChain) is a strong plus.
- Basic understanding of data processing pipelines and database management.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with AI/ML projects (academic or professional).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure or Google Cloud).

Compensation & Benefits Details
- An employees pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills ability knowledge of the job; (3) performance contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California Colorado New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
- If your position is nonexempt you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay depending on the shift to which you are assigned.
- You will be eligible to participate in Western Digitals ShortTerm Incentive (STI) Plan which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance you may be eligible to participate in our annual LongTerm Incentive (LTI) program which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires subject to Western Digitals Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
