What youd be doing in this role

We are looking for a leader in Corporate Accounting  someone who seeks to understand and redefine rather than follow the crowd. As the Head of Corporate Accounting you will take charge of our Corporate Accounting function ensuring the completeness and accuracy of our financial reporting timelines. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes and for the change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures. Your expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in evolving Canvas capabilities in this space while ensuring that our processes and policies support the scale and complexity of a rapidlyexpanding company.

At the moment the role is focused on:

• Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.
• Lead and mentor a highperforming corporate accounting team fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• The development and ongoing maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard our accounting close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks providing recommendations for improvements and optimization.
• Drive collaboration across departments to enhance crossfunctional understanding of financial processes and outcomes.
• Streamline and optimize financial processes leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.

Youre probably a match if you have:

• Demonstrated success in leading a Corporate Accounting function through rapid growth in a scaled public company environment with a proven ability to develop and execute effective strategies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of building highperforming teams and continuously supporting their growth and development.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive business process transformation and change management.
• Extensive experience in establishing and standardizing policies processes procedures and controls that are SOXcompliant.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus

At Canva our Finance team plays a pivotal role in driving Canvas success by ensuring our financial systems processes and reporting are efficient and effective. As we continue our rapid growth the accounting group will be key in providing accurate and timely financial information supporting Canvas mission to empower the world to design.

At Canva we value fairness and we strive to provide competitive marketinformed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learned in the hiring process. The salary range for this position is $208000 to $276000. When calculating offers we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates skills and experience.
