Location: Staunton VA (24401)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled VDOT System Administrator to support our Transportation Operations Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation configuration and maintenance of both Linux and Windows servers while providing exceptional customer service and support to users at all levels. This role involves responding to technical issues managing system resources and enhancing cybersecurity measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy new/replacement Linux (RedHat) and Windows Operating Systems Servers.
- Provide Tier III support for enduser resources and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system changes inventory and maintenance records.
- Perform regular system monitoring backups and security assessments.
- Collaborate on improving cybersecurity controls and threat mitigation strategies.
Key Skills Required:
- 3 Years in configuring and deploying Linux and Windows servers.
- 3 Years of experience in desktop/laptop/server hardware support.
- 3 Years in Active Directory Administration.
- 3 Years in Virtualization/VMWare.
- 3 Years in Backup and Recovery processes.
