Job Description
A Cell Culture Scietntist will assist clients in the Manufacturing Scientist and Technology Fermentation Group supporting cell culture and microbial organisms growth through fermentation and necessary recovery steps to isolate the products.
Responsibilities of this role may include:
- Preparation of fermentation/ cell culture medium passaging of of cells aseptic technique buffer solutions consumable materials etc. as needed to support experiment execution
- Execution of lab processes or pilotscale using various scale platforms (250 mL to 150 L)
- Process development and characterization
- Scaleup and tech transfer to commercial manufacturing
- Process simulation and modeling process troubleshooting qualification of alternate raw materials and components new technology development
- Organize technical data and provide oral presentations or technical reports to communicate results as required
- Utilizing technical knowledge to identify troubleshoot and assist with resolution of process problems
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology Biology Biochemistry or other science related degree concentration
- A minimum of 4 years of industry experience is required
- Experience with cell culture aseptic technique and passaging of cells is required.
- Experience with direct fermentation product recovery (centrifugation Ultrafiltration Depth and Sterile Filtration) and extraction experience (Homogenization pH titrations)
- Experience with fermenters at small scale or Pilot Scale in an industrybased setting is required
- Experience with operating and monitoring of fermentation equipment centrifugation and performing sterile technique is required
- Experience with accurate pipetting and performing serial dilutions is required
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information :
Position is fulltimeMonday Friday 8:005:00pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sanford NC are encouraged to apply.
Work on second or third shift to support fermentation operations may be required on a frequent basis.
Weekend work may required on a periodic basis.
