Job Description

Our client has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This role focuses primarily on Commercial and Construction Litigation including Dispute Resolution Contract & Procurement Development and Contract Security.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a talented closeknit team of lawyers and paralegals. Our client is seeking a confident and experienced paralegal (10 years) to lead case management draft and file court documents and provide leadership where needed. The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of litigation procedures a thorough understanding of Land Title Office filings and expertise in court preparation mediation arbitration and ediscovery.

Our client offers a collaborative and supportive work environment along with a flexible hybrid schedule. The position offers a salary of $90000 per year with comprehensive medical benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft review analyze and file pleadings agreements contracts and court documents.
  • Assist with case management.
  • Prepare for litigation by gathering and organizing documents for court mediation arbitration examinations for discovery and trials.
  • Maintain a bringforward system for key dates and limitation periods.
  • Draft and file land documents.
  • Book chambers and trial dates.
  • Conduct legal research including court and land rules.
  • Prepare and produce lists of documents and affidavits of record using Everlaw.
  • Process incoming lists of documents and affidavits of record from opposing counsel.
  • Correspond with clients opposing counsel court staff and the Land Title Office as needed.
  • Perform various searches including land court bankruptcy PPR and corporate searches.
  • Maintain file checklists for pleadings and landrelated matters.
  • Handle basic administrative tasks such as photocopying and scanning.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience as a Paralegal.
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation procedures and legal processes.
  • Strong expertise in Land Title Office procedures and land document filings.
  • Superior leadership and case management skills.
  • Some corporate law experience would be considered an asset.
