Controller
Were currently supporting a faced paced software holdco withtheir new controller. This business is growing quickly and the role will require an energetic person with a figure things out attitude.
About the role:
The Controller will play a critical role in managing the accounting functions across our portfolio ensuring accurate financial reporting and driving efficiency in our monthend close processes. This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong accounting policies supporting financial integrations of newly acquired entities and building a scalable finance function as we grow. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a dynamic fastpaced environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats to support our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthend financial close process across all portfolio companies driving faster and more efficient close cycles while ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as the key decisionmaker for all accounting policies ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Oversee all accounting processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and consistency across all entities.
- Support the financial integration of new acquisitions including their accounting systems financial reporting and operational alignment with our groups standards.
- Work closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights and datadriven recommendations that inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and implement scalable financial controls and processes to support the companys rapid growth.
- Hire train and develop accountants to support the companys continued expansion ensuring that the finance team remains strong and capable as the portfolio grows.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and key SaaS metrics such as ARR churn LTV and gross margin providing actionable insights to drive company performance.
- Collaborate with operations legal and finance teams to ensure smooth integrations and transitions postacquisition.
- Implement a systemsthinking approach to ensure data accuracy and consistency within the ERP and accounting platforms.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in SaaS finance and accounting to continuously improve our financial processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- 510 years of experience in a senior accounting or audit role preferably within the SaaS or technology industry.
- Strong experience with ERPs like Sage Intacct and NetSuite and SMB accounting systems like QuickBooks Online (QBO) preferred.
- Prior experience in a private equitybacked company with an understanding of financial reporting and investor expectations.
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models and key financial metrics with experience in revenue recognition and subscriptionbased financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and scale an accounting function in a fastpaced highgrowth environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to drive business performance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with crossfunctional teams.
- CPA or CMA designation is preferred but not required.
