The Senior Data Engineer Designs builds and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Senior Data Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an indepth evaluation of variable factors.
Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns. Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence machine learning and bigdata techniques to cleanse organize and transform data into insights and actions that enables us to better serve our customers. Begins to influence departments strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- 5 or more years experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
Data Engineering experience implementing data pipelines data lakes and data warehouses to support largescale data processing and analytics
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (i.e. Apache Airflow Talend Informatica) Big Data Tools (i.e. Apache Hadoop Spark) Stream Processing (i.e. Kafka AWS Kinesis Azure Event Hubs Apache Beam) and Data Orchestration tools
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP)
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs microservices architecture and serverless computing
- Prior project lead experience
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in cloud technologies (i.e. AWS Certified Big Data Azure Data Engineer Associate GCP Data Engineer)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Familiarity with GraphQL schema design and implementation
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes)
