Job Description
JOB TITLE: Senior Manager HVAC Coil Design
DEPARTMENT: Engineering & Estimation
LOCATION: Sriperumbudur Chennai
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager HVAC Coil Design to lead the design and development of evaporator and condenser coils for heating and cooling applications in the HVAC industry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in thermal and mechanical design along with the ability to guide a team of design engineers and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thermal and Mechanical Design:
- Perform fundamental heat transfer calculations for determining the appropriate sizing of heating and cooling coils.
- Utilize thirdparty design software for detailed coil design.
- Incorporate knowledge of enhanced heat transfer technologies for improved coil performance.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of design engineers to ensure highquality detailed designs.
- Oversee the development of shop fabrication drawings.
Coordination with Estimation and Sales Teams:
- Provide proposal designs for bids and technical support during the estimation phase.
- Address customer technical clarifications to ensure alignment with requirements.
CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Work with the procurement team to prepare and release technical purchase specifications.
- Coordinate with the quality department to ensure adherence to technical standards and specifications.
Continuous Improvement:
- Keep abreast of industry advancements in HVAC technologies and heat transfer methods to drive innovation in product design.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the thermal and mechanical design of HVAC coils (evaporators and condensers).
- Technical Skills: Proven expertise in fundamental heat transfer calculations and coil sizing.
- Industrial Knowledge: Familiarity with thirdparty software for HVAC coil design (e.g. CoilPro HTRI etc.).
- Soft Skills: Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
