Job Description
Below are the key duties and responsibilities associated with this role:
1. Review utility system designs (both dry & wet) to ensure compliance with project requirements codes and standards.
2. Assess the functionality efficiency and costeffectiveness of designs.
3. Ensure the integration of utility systems with other infrastructure components (e.g. roads buildings).
4. Identify design conflicts or issues and work with the design team to resolve them.
5. Verify that design solutions align with the project scope and client expectations.
6. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil structural MEP) to ensure seamless integration of utility systems.
7. Lead regular coordination meetings with engineers BIM modelers and other contractors to discuss design and technical issues.
8. Ensure that design modifications are communicated effectively across all project stakeholders.
9. Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to clarify design intentions and resolve onsite issues.
10. Facilitate clash detection and resolution using BIM or other coordination tools.
11. Oversee the generation and review of shop drawings for utility systems ensuring they reflect accurate and sufficient details and align with the approved design.
12. Ensure shop drawings meet technical specifications local codes and standards.
13. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to review material specifications and ensure accuracy.
Requirements
1. Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects with a focus on dry and wet utility systems.
2. Proven experience in design review coordination and management of utility systems (water sewage drainage electrical telecommunications etc.).
3. Experience with leading or managing technical teams in the design and construction of utility systems.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Revit and other relevant engineering design software.
5. Strong knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools and processes.
6. Experience in reviewing and generating shop drawings as well as coordinating multidisciplinary designs.
7. Knowledge of local national and international design codes standards and regulations related to utilities.
8. Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to manage conflicts and technical challenges.
9. Strong communication skills both written and verbal for effective interaction with internal teams clients subcontractors and other stakeholders.
