Job Description
- Primary responsibility is DevOps with a strong focus on infrastructure monitoring debugging faultfinding and continuous improvement to ensure a stable and reliable service (sub product / software application).
- Coordinate with internal and external team members including QA and BA and knowledge sharing
- Compiling of operational manuals
- Review code of team members in line with quality and delivery requirements
- Ensure software maintainability and efficient migrations
- Adhere to governance security directives and other internal or external applicable policies
- Deployments / releases
- The team has a DevOps setup and team members are required to attend to operational incidents when required as well as be on occasional standby as we service international clients
- Active (technical) participation in Agile events (ceremonies) including project increment planning.

Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or similar
- Java development experience of at least 1 year. (OCA preferable OCP more so)
- At least 6 months of AWS experience
- Java 11 with Object Orientated skills
- Spring Boot
- Kubernetes and Docker
- Git / GitHub
- AWS technologies: SQS SNS Kinesis Lambda Aurora RDS EKS DynamoDB Cognito API Gateway ElastiCache
- SQL PostgreSQL preferable
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform & TerraGrunt.
- CI/CD pipeline setup GitHub Actions GitOps preferable
- Networking in an AWS context subnets firewalls routing DNS (reverse) proxies
Advantageous Skills Requirements:
- Microprofile or Quarkus preferably
- Helm YAML
- RESTful endpoints design and implementation
- Typescript / JavaScript
- WSL / Unix
- TDD (Test driven development) / BDD (Behavior driven development)
- Gradle
- Grafana / Prometheus
- Atlassian Jira / Confluence
- A strong team player that has a high level of ownership and responsibility
- Attention to detail strong problem solver taking pride in delivering quality work
- Ability to work interdependently (selfstarter) as well and to submit deliverables on time and with excellent quality
- Aboveboard work ethics
- Excellent verbal and written (documentation and diagrams) communication skills
- Flexibility in taking up different tasks in the project
- Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required
- Ability to work with diverse international cultures
- Willing and able to travel internationally
- Working remotely as well as from office (as and when required)
Essential Skills requirements: At least 3 years of experience in Splunk. Experience in Splunk Cluster Setup, Operation, and management. Experience in data pre-processing within Splunk. Experience in statistical modelling within Splunk. Experience with Splunk SPL. Strong background in the concept and development of Splunk environment, templates & apps.
