Position: PD/Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Summary:
We are seeking highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineers to lead the development of consumer wearable products. In this role you will own the mechanical design process balance complex tradeoffs and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver innovative reliable and manufacturable solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of mechanical designs for consumer wearable products from concept through production.
- Develop solutions balancing competing requirements such as size thermal performance reliability cost manufacturability and aesthetics.
- Conduct tolerance analysis FEA (thermal/structural) and ensure product performance meets design specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address designformanufacturability (DFM) challenges and oversee part development.
- Support preproduction builds to address maturity supplier needs and manufacturing challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX for CAD.
- Ability to conduct tolerance analysis (RSS and worstcase methods).
- Understanding of thermal design fundamentals.
- Proven ability to solve complex design problems and conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Product Design and Manufacturing:
- Experience with the full lifecycle of consumer product design from concept to largescale manufacturing.
- Expertise in tooling design and resolving DFM issues.
- Experience with design for various fabrication technologies.
- Analytical and ProblemSolving Skills:
- FEA skills for thermal and structural analysis.
- Ability to make structured tradeoff decisions optimizing cost performance and reliability.
- Tolerance analysis techniques and application
- Specialized Expertise (Preferred but not required):
- Proficiency in plastics design for injection molding and advanced molding techniques (e.g. twoshot overmolding).
- Familiarity with highdensity electronic packaging design including power/thermal/reliability tradeoffs.
- Acoustic design for highquality sound performance.
- Designing for water resistance (IPx standards).
- Design for reliability testing and validation.
