A Functional Safety Assessor ensures that safetycritical systems and components comply with ISO 26262 standards. This involves assessing the development lifecycle safety processes and products to confirm they meet required safety goals and guidelines. The assessor acts as an independent reviewer providing expert guidance to the team and ensuring compliance with the safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Be wellversed with all the parts of ISO 26262 standard particularly Part 234568 and 9
Should have 8 years of relevant experience in ISO26262 standard and hands on experience with different parts.
Prepare an Assessment Plan that outlines the scope objectives and schedule for FuSa assessment at different stages of the safety life cycle.
Establish criteria for evaluating compliance with ISO 26262.
Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g. project managers safety engineers and development teams) to align with the assessment plan with the overall project timeline.
Evaluate the implementation of FuSa processes to ensure compliance with ISO 26262.
Perform independent review of the safety work products such as HARA Safety concepts (FSC TSC etc..) safety cases safety analysis reports test reports etc...
Provide an Assessment Report that clearly documents all the noncompliances and gaps with respect to ISO26262.
Stay uptodate with industry trends advancements and regulatory changes related to automotive functional safety.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Computer Engineering Systems Engineering or a related field.
10 plus years of experience in the automotive industry.
Indepth knowledge of functional safety standards and methodologies particularly ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
Strong expertise in FuSa assessment planning and reporting.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a crossfunctional team environment.
A minimum of TUV L2 Certified Functional Safety professional is a MUST.
