The Medical Clinic Assistant (MA) in the physician office practices assists the physician and other staff so the office runs efficiently. The MA provides direct patient care services such as routine vital signs and gathers pertinent medical history. The MA educates and prepares the patient for office procedures and assists the doctor in the collection and preparation of specimens. The MA collects the appropriate informed consent forms and prepares the surgical packet. Under the direct supervision of the physician the MA administers injections. As directed by the physician the MA notifies patient of test results and the recommended plan of care.
A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant at MyMichigan Health:
- (30%)*Triages all calls schedules daily urgent/emergent addons receives and relays test results. Supports directs and refers patients for consults and/or testing and insurance precertification and documentation.
- (30%)*Greets patients and/or family performs routine preexamination procedures including vital signs assessing and recording objective and subjective data concerning presenting condition. Updates and maintains an accurate patient record by performing but not limited to orders reconciliation secure messaging (if available) and other tasks as assigned. Performs medication reconciliation enters allergy reaction type processes refills within the scope of their certification.
- (20%)*Assists provider with examinations and procedures.
- (20%)*Prepares and cleans the patient area sets up equipment cleans and facilitates room set up after a procedure. Disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes medical instruments.
Requirement description :
- 2 Years of MA Experience Required
- Travelers must have their OWN vehicle for assignment

- Previous Travel Experience Highly Preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification Required
