Job Description

Position :Tax Supervisor (AEC Architecture/Engineering/Construction)

Location: New York City New York United States

Industry: Accounting / Auditing

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Tax Supervisor specializing in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) group is responsible for managing the tax compliance and reporting functions specific to the AEC industry. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely tax filings developing tax strategies and providing guidance on taxrelated matters. The Tax Supervisor will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize AEC clients tax position and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise the preparation and filing of federal state and local tax returns specific to the AEC industry.

Ensure compliance with industryspecific tax regulations including constructionspecific tax issues.

Manage tax audits including preparing necessary documentation and liaising with tax authorities.

Oversee the preparation and review of tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures for the AEC group.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of taxrelated financial information and maintain comprehensive records of all tax filings and transactions.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions for AEC clients.

Identify tax incentives and credits applicable to the AEC industry and advise clients on their utilization.

Stay updated on tax legislation and its implications for the AEC industry.

Supervise mentor and develop a team of tax professionals while providing training and support to ensure the teams professional growth and performance.

Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance within the AEC group.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Accounting Finance or a related field.

    CPA Preferred

      Experience:

      4 years of experience in tax with a focus on the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.

      Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.

      Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.

      Great analytical and problemsolving skills.

      Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

      Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.

        Ideal Candidate:
        Must have extensive experience with clients in the AEC sector (Architecture Engineering & Construction).

        Must be local to NYC.

        Must have CPA.
