The NYC Department of Design and Construction Technology and Innovation (T&I) Division seeks a Junior IT Project Manager. Reporting to the director of Applications Development the selected candidate will be an integral part in the management of IT project initiatives from software development to the implementation of COTS products. These projects span a broad range of technical disciplines that include but are not limited to Payment Applications Contract & Vendor Management Back Office Systems and purely infrastructure initiatives. The selected candidate will ensure all aspects of the software development lifecycle are on time and within scope and budget towards an efficient and streamlined project delivery. The Junior IT Project Manager will participate in one or more project teams as necessary towards effective business analysis and requirements gathering to ensure there is cohesion between the business stakeholders and the technical teams involved in the implementation. Additionally duties include coordinating internal resources and thirdparty vendors for the execution of projects assist in the definition of project scope and objectives and ensure technical feasibility and resource availability. The selected candidate will develop detailed project plan to monitor and track progress manage changes to the scope timeline and overall cost of the project. Being deeply involved in the technical implementation the selected candidate will report and escalate to management as needed but also identify and address issues that could potentially hinder the progress of the project. The selected candidate must maintain regular communication with the business stakeholders and the userbase to ensure all parties involved are abreast of the progress. The Junior IT Project Manager will maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure that all artifacts are aligned with the current phase of the project. Furthermore the selected candidate will successfully manage the relationship with the users even after the delivery of the project to ensure the system is in steady state and there are no issues post release.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and four years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and six years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above.
