Job Description

APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE ASSOCIATE STAFF ANALYST CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR BE PERMANENT IN A COMPARABLE TITLE ELIGIBLE FOR 6.1.9 TITLE CHANGE.

The Corrective Action Planning Office (CAPO) was recently created to enhance agencywide compliance with corrective action plans. A CAP may follow findings from audits fraud investigations risk assessments internal reviews and more. Operating within the DSS Accountability Office CAPO reviews monitors and evaluates corrective actions affecting DSS Programs and contracted vendors. CAPO tracks agency corrective action progress and ensures that any roadblocks to CAP implementation and compliance are identified and remedied.

The Corrective Action Planning Office (CAPO) is recruiting for one (1) Associate Staff Analyst to function as a Management Analyst who will:

Respond to corrective actions received from internal and external stakeholders including oversight agencies and government entities DOI NYC Comptrollers Office and New York State Comptrollers Office Department of Health and Department of Homeless Services by collecting data securing needed information to provide and prepare accurate reports information and summaries of corrective action follow ups and completions.

Review corrective action reports memoranda analyses and other correspondence on results of monitoring activities and findings including results of onsite monitoring vendors auditors DHS DOI and other outside stakeholders. Ensure information is accurate clear uniformed to convey any follow ups appropriate tracking monitoring and recommendations for corrective actions.

Prepare and draft reports formulating results related to corrective action activities with timely follow ups on completions. Advise the Director and program areas on corrective action accomplishments and on where corrective actions have become problematic. Recommend realignment plans with program areas.

Control the collection and analysis of statistical corrective actions by using system data base; entries tracking corrective action completions and follow ups. Provide report findings timeline processing and modifications.

Attend staff meetings and facilitate relevant discussions to keep program areas informed of corrective action goals and updated changes in corrective action processes. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders other organizations by integrating work unit activities and establishing cooperative relationships.

Qualifications :

1. A masters degree from an accredited college or university accredited by regional national professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics finance accounting business or public administration human resources management management science operations research organizational behavior industrial psychology statistics personnel administration labor relations psychology sociology human resources development political science urban studies or a closely related field and one year of satisfactory fulltime professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration accounting economic or financial administration or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis operations research organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration recruitment position classification personnel relations labor relations employee
benefits staff development employment program planning/administration labor market research economic planning social services program planning/evaluation or fiscal management; or in a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university accredited by regional national professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and three years of satisfactory fulltime professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.
