Job Description

CANDIDATES MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE

Domestic Violence Services provides critical emergency services to domestic violence survivors in the form of temporary shelter and access to social services. DVS has oversight over the largest portfolio of temporary residential housing (shelter) for domestic violence survivors in the nation. DVS contracts with notforprofit organizations offering supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their children in emergency and transitional shelter and in the community.
The Emergency Food and Nutrition Assistance Program (EFNAP) seeks to improve the nutritional status of lowincome New Yorkers by (1) providing food and funding to approximately 700 emergency food programs (food pantries and community kitchens; and (2) facilitating and monitoring SNAP outreach services throughout the emergency food network; and (3) promoting food support benefits.

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of the Food Insecurity Assistance Team is responsible for monitoring emergency food programs and contracted vendors to insure the presence and quality of SNAP outreach services.

HRAs Domestic Violence Services is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate II to function as a Food Insecurity Assistance Team Specialist who will:

Make onsite/field visits to prospective and current pantries and community kitchens to ensure adherence to contract specifications and/or agency requirements. Provides feedback to supervisor and suggests corrective action as necessary.

Monitor the EFAP funded emergency food programs and provide reports to management in order to maintain compliance with Local Law 80.

Distribute food support materials to emergency food programs as needed insuring appropriateness for various populations.

Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in order to prepare reports that document services at emergency food programs.

Draft reports that document site visits and detail services provided and/or needed.


Work Location: 4 WTC 43rd floor

Hours/Schedule: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in 1 above; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in 1 above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in 1 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
