Horticulturist

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement plans for maintaining and improving the gardens and green spaces on our cruise ships

Select and source plants flowers and other greenery that will thrive in the unique conditions of a cruise ship environment

Monitor and maintain the health of all plants including watering fertilizing and pest control

Coordinate with other departments to ensure the gardens and green spaces are integrated seamlessly into the overall ship design and operations

Train and supervise a team of gardeners and other crew members in proper horticultural techniques

Keep detailed records of all plants and their care as well as budget and supply management

Continuously seek out new and innovative ideas for enhancing the beauty and functionality of our gardens and green spaces

Qualifications:

A degree in Horticulture or a related field

Proven experience in horticulture preferably in a maritime or cruise ship setting

Extensive knowledge of plants flowers and gardening techniques

Strong organizational and timemanagement skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work well in a team and independently

Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Familiarity with budget and supply management

Passion for horticulture and a creative eye for design
