Make your mark as a Geophysicist Year in Industry at Gardline!

We are looking for student Geophysicists to undertake a 12month placement to support the processing and interpretation of shallow geophysical data and the preparation of associated reports and deliverables.
Project types range from traditional site survey work to large scale offshore renewable developments. These can include specific surveys aimed at potential UXO threats or cable route aspects of large developments.

Data is acquired by our fleet of multirole survey vessels. On board as part of a team of Geophysicists you will QC the data making sure it is fit for purpose and carry out preliminary interpretation and reporting. Back in our office in Great Yarmouth you will have the opportunity to help with further processing interpretation reporting and creating deliverables. Which will include the integration of Environmental Geotechnical and thirdparty datasets providing plenty of opportunities to learn and gain valuable workplace experience.

Whilst the position will be based at our offices in Great Yarmouth it also provides the opportunity to gain valuable offshore experience with an expectation of completing circa 120 days offshore during the internship period. You will need to have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship and be available when your 2nd year of university is complete.

Full training will be provided with this placement offering skills to build upon after graduation.

Qualifications :

Your responsibilities include:

• Undertake processing and interpretation of shallow geophysical data
• Undertake offshore QA and QC of geophysical data
• Integrate data from a variety of sources including environmental geotechnical shallow geophysical and multichannel seismic

• Enthusiasm ingenuity and personal drive.
• Have successfully completed years 1 & 2 of a relevant degree in an earth science related subject.
• Have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
• General understanding of the marine survey industry.
• Team spirit and collaborative work ethic.

• A full drivers license would be advantageous.
• Where you will work: Prospect House Gapton Hall Industrial Estate Great Yarmouth.
• Fulltime job: The position of Year in Industry is 37.5 hours per week.
