Job Description
Job Description:
- Oncall for hospital primarily OB call for Family Birth Center This is OFF SITE the provider must be within 30 minutes of the facility.
- Likely will not have emergent GYN cases
- Reason for coverage: Vacation
- Coverage dates: March 27 at 7:00 a.m. to March 31 at 7:00 a.m.
- 24hour call coverage
- Only OB/GYN on call (typical call is 1:3 for OB/GYN)
- Hospital staffs 44 beds (med/surg ICU and birth center)
- Average of one delivery per day
- Physician team includes 3 OB/GYNs and 1 GYN
- No other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during locums dates
- Onsite lab available
- Onsite ultrasound available
- Not covering office visits; support staff at hospital includes RNs RTs CRNAs anesthesiologist
- 21% of patients require Csections
- Average of one nursery admission per day
- Nursery Level I
- Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
- Lowrisk pregnancy management (e.g. history of twins toxemia pyelonephritis)
- Highrisk pregnancy management (e.g. toxemia diabetes chronic lung or renal disease Class II cardiacs)
- OB ultrasounds Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
- Fetal heart rate interpretation NST/CST/FSE
- Routine vaginal delivery low forceps decisionmaking for Csection
- Complicated deliveries Csection breech multiple births abruptions
- Repair of 3rd & 4thdegree lacerations
- Surgical gynecology Open procedures
- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation LOA s chromal tubation)
- Operative/major procedures (ectopic pregnancy ovary removal cystectomy extensive LOAs)
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 23 weeks for temporary privileges
