Job Description
Seeking an experienced Board Certified pediatric surgeon to support a community health system in providing surgical care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through teenage years.
Duties include collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnosis and determine if surgery is necessary. As well as managing and performing preoperative operative and postoperative care.
24/7 surgeons will have office support staff during the day to triage incoming calls including RX refills. Majority of afterhours calls are from Pediatric Emergency Department.

- Full time coverage for clinic MF(8a5p) night call coverage MF (8p8a) and weekend call coverage SatSun(24 hr)
- Rounding for patient the locum provider has admitted and weekend surgical consults as needed
- Primarily consults from the ED approx. 02 calls per day
- Hospital sees approx 810 per year emergent surgeries per year not a trauma hospital
- 15min max call back time for emergency consult.
- 30min max response time
- 04 patients per day per provider
Requirement description :
- Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon REQUIRED; no exceptions.
- VA State License & DEA REQUIRED at time of submission
- CLEAN BACKGROUND NO EXCEPTIONS
- COI coverage of xx2.6M/xx7.8M (VA statute limitations) Required if requested by the facility
- MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE LISTED DATES
- NO EXCEPTIONS ON THE REQUIREDMENTS.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
- BLS
- PALS
- Board Certified
STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
- Virginia
ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : Board certified in pediatric surgery VA License VA DEA
Weekend Requirements : Yes; 24 hour call
On Call Requirements : Yes 7a7a
