About the Role We are seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our clients Family Law Department in Costa Mesa CA. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience handling a broad range of family law cases including dissolutions property division child custody support paternity domestic violence and postjudgment modifications.
This role requires a highly organized and clientfocused attorney who can independently manage cases while delivering exceptional legal representation. The ideal candidate will have courtroom experience strong legal research and writing skills and the ability to handle discovery procedures effectively.
Key Responsibilities - Handle a variety of family law cases including divorce custody support paternity domestic violence and postjudgment modifications.
- Represent clients in court hearings evidentiary hearings and Request for Order (RFO) proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings motions declarations and Points & Authorities.
- Manage discovery procedures including propounding and responding to written discovery and preparing discovery motions.
- Maintain familiarity with California Family Code case law and judicial council forms.
- Work directly with clients to provide legal advice case updates and guidance.
- Manage multiple cases efficiently while ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate with legal staff to ensure seamless case progression and highquality client service.
Key Qualifications - Active license in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of family law experience handling cases from start to finish.
- Courtroom experience including handling evidentiary hearings and RFO proceedings.
- Strong legal research and writing skills with experience drafting pleadings motions and legal briefs.
- Familiarity with California Family Code case law and judicial council forms.
- Ability to manage discovery processes including written discovery responses and motions.
- Highly organized detailoriented and capable of managing multiple cases efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
