Job Description
At Contentful you will play a key role in building and scaling our APIfirst analytics platform a customerfacing product integrated into the Contentful platform. This platform processes billions of analytics events providing customers with actionable insights to enhance their digital content strategies and seamlessly integrate with the broader Contentful ecosystem.
As a backend software engineer you will collaborate with crossfunctional teams solve technical challenges and contribute to a highperforming cloudnative solution designed for enterprisescale applications.
What Are Your Responsibilities- Develop and optimize APIs for the Contentful integrated analytics platform focusing on high throughput event ingestion and querying large amounts of data.
- Work with data engineers and other teams to ensure smooth integration with the Contentful platform.
- Build reliable and scalable APIs while providing a great developer experience.
- Ensure system stability and cost efficiency through thoughtful design and implementation.
- Implement logging monitoring and automated testing to maintain observability.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations in all development efforts.
- Proven experience in backend development particularly in building and maintaining hightraffic APIs.
- Strong Proficiency in TypeScript for serverside development.
- Handson experience with cloudnative technologies and architectures with familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (e.g. Pub/Sub BigQuery CloudRun) and Cloudflare Workers being a plus.
- Exposure to API contracts (e.g. tsrest tRPC) and data contracts (e.g. Protocol Buffers Avro) is beneficial but not required.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions GitLab CI) and focus on automated testing with frameworks like Jest or Vitest.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code practices (e.g. Terraform) is a plus.
- Commitment to writing maintainable highquality code with automated testing and observability built in.
