Proteins are the molecular machines of life used for many therapeutic diagnostic chemical agricultural and food applications. Designing and optimizing proteins takes a lot of expert knowledge and manual effort through the use of custom computational and biological tools.
Machine learning is revolutionising this space by enabling highfidelity protein models. At Cradle we offer a software platform for AIguided discovery and optimization of proteins so that biologists can design proteins faster and at scale. We are already used by clients across pharma biotech agritech foodtech and academia.
We're an experienced team of over 40 people. We've built many successful products before and have enough funding for multiple years of runway. We are distributed across two main locations Zurich and Amsterdam and are focused on building the best possible team culture.

Your Role
As a Scientific Consultant you will play a key role in ensuring our customers achieve success with our software and services. You’ll work closely with biotech and pharmaceutical companies mapping their needs and goals to Cradle’s capabilities and guiding them in how to best use our platform for antibody discovery and optimisation. You’ll act as a trusted partner ensuring that customers are maximising the value of our solutions to meet their business goals. Additionally you’ll collaborate across Cradle teams including engineering product sales to ensure a smooth customer experience and inform product development based on customer feedback.
Your Responsibilities
Biotherapeutics solution advisory
- Work closely with customers with Biotherapeuticsrelated use cases in particular Antibodies to understand their scientific goals and propose tailored solutions using our protein discovery platform.
- Advise them on identifying projects within their portfolios that Cradle platform is best suited for.
- Collaborate with product teams at Cradle to guide product development such as to address customer needs in particular in Biotherapeutics applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Cradle’s users monitor their satisfaction
- Collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
Musthaves
- PhD in molecular biology bioengineering bioinformatics or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in biopharma in a scientific role in protein engineering focussing on antibodies with experience with biophysical and/or functional assays.
- Deep knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D process methods tooling.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear actionable insights.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders including scientists and business leaders.
- Experience with machine learning
- Experience in relationship management and/or sales in biotech or software industry
- Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (pandas scikit scipy matplotlib etc.). Familiarity with SQL.
