Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess plan implement and evaluate patient care plans. Prepares and administers (orally subcutaneously through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Educates patients on surgical procedures. Records patients medical information and vital signs.
RN Med Surg Unit Memorial Hospital in Temple TX part of Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full time Registered Nurse to join our amazing Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit (STC5)! Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. Schedule: Full Time Days/Nights 36 hours per week Unit Summary This 36bed telemetry monitored nursing unit provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging in age from Adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service for STC5 include but are not limited to the following: Wide variety of Medical Diagnosis Most patients we see come from the ICU especially the MICU Patients requiring medication regimens Patients with impaired respiratory status Patients requiring airborne contact and/or droplet precautions Patients requiring nutritional support Patients requiring wound and skin care Diagnostic procedures including thoracentesis lumbar punctures central line placement paracentesis angiocath insertion pacemaker and collection of specimens Patients requiring N/G suction Patients requiring cardiac monitoring Patients with GI abnormalities Severe Sepsis BiPap machines ( external vent) CHF MultiOrgan Failure points. Qualifications Grad of an Accredited Program Specialized field of study should be nursing. A current and valid nursing license. Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
