HM Note: This contract role is remote and candidates can work remotely and must reside in Canada.
Candidates must be a maximum of three (3) pages or less in MS Word format and the resume must include first and last name. Resumes should show relevant examples of project work (1 page per project. Maximum of 3 Projects)

Description:
The Modernizing OpenVMS project requires an Architect to work with the Ministry of Education and Child Care on business requirements application design and testing of the replacement of our current SLD system (responsible for student and school data) and a new Education Data Exchange (EDX). and nbsp;The Modernizing OpenVMS project is responsible for moving critical functionality away from the aging/retiring OpenVMS platform and modernizing business processes into new modern solutions. and nbsp;
and nbsp; and nbsp;
The proposed Consultant have the following additional skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years of software architecture and/or software development experience (within the last 10 years) related to the delivery of large complex or transformational projects;
- Minimum 3 years of experience (within the last 5 years) performing code reviews and data model reviews and analysis;
- Degree or diploma in computer science or a related field demonstrated ongoing learning activities or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and
- Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated experience communicating effectively to a broad range of stakeholders.
There is a need to link multiple systems together using a microservices and API first approach and continue to develop functionality of the Ministrys new applications and move away from the Open VMS platform. The project has 2 streams of work:
- Stream 1
- Migrate existing TRAX system off of Open VMS and complete GRAD project.
- Stream 2
- Modernize the Ministrys data collection and distribution. Including Student Level Data ingestion and distribution.
Proponents must also demonstrate that the proposed Consultant(s) have the following additional skills and experience in all or most of the following technology stack:
