Job Description
We re seeking a talented and experienced Virtual Accountant to take charge of financial operations for our client s expanding restaurant group. In this pivotal role you ll be the financial backbone of six thriving establishments each operating as its own entity. You ll leverage your expertise in Xero accounting software to streamline processes manage complex financial data and provide crucial insights that will drive business decisions. Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage financial operations for six distinct restaurant entities ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounts
- Utilize Xero accounting software to handle daytoday bookkeeping including accounts payable accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency across all restaurant operations
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow forecasts for each restaurant
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability
- Collaborate with the Australian tax agent to ensure timely and accurate tax filings for all entities
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms to optimize cash flow
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for each restaurant aligning financial planning with business objectives
- Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders providing regular updates on financial performance and key metrics
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting with a strong preference for candidates with restaurant or hospitality industry background
- Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in managing finances for multientity businesses
- Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel for advanced financial modeling and analysis
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- Experience with VoIP systems and comfort in making and receiving calls as part of daily responsibilities
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes in a fastpaced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in all financial matters
