Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

AS a Cashier at Hamad M Al Rugaib , you will be the first and last point of contact for our customers, creating a positive and memorable shopping experience. You will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
Greet customers promptly and courteously.
Assist customers with questions about products, prices, and store policies.
Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using various payment methods (cash, credit cards, debit cards).
Issue receipts and handle returns or exchanges.
Resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
Cash Handling:
Operate the cash register and balance the drawer at the end of each shift.
Follow all cash handling procedures to prevent theft and errors.
Complete daily deposits.
Processing Transactions
Handle payments: Accept payments via cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, or other methods, ensuring the correct amount is received.
Provide change: Accurately give change to customers when paying with cash, ensuring the correct amount is returned.
Scan items: Scan products using the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring the correct price is applied.
Customer Service
Greet customers: Welcome customers as they approach the register, offering a friendly and helpful demeanor.
Answer questions: Address customer inquiries regarding product availability, store policies, or promotions.
Resolve complaints: Handle customer issues or complaints politely, and escalate to a manager if needed.

Handling Returns and Exchanges
Process returns: Accept returned items and process them according to store policy, issuing refunds or exchanges when appropriate.
Verify receipts: Ensure that returned items are accompanied by receipts and that they meet the criteria for return.
Maintaining Cash Drawer
Balance register: Count the money in the register at the start and end of shifts, ensuring the amount matches the sales records.
Ensure cash security: Follow store policies for handling large sums of money, ensuring that cash is stored securely.
Promotions and Upselling
Inform customers about deals: Actively promote sales, discounts, loyalty programs, and store promotions to encourage additional purchases.
Suggest add-ons: Suggest related products or accessories that complement the customer’s purchase, contributing to increased sales.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail
Verify pricing: Ensure that the correct pricing is applied to items, double-checking for sales or discounts.
Keep records: Maintain accurate transaction records and report discrepancies if they arise.
