You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Counsellor will provide essential counselling services to a diverse range of clients dealing with various psychosocial issues including mental health conditions addictions eating disorders grief and trauma anger management family and domestic violence and financial stressors. This role involves conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments delivering targeted interventions and coordinating care to enhance the overall wellbeing of clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a compassionate approach and a strong commitment to supporting individuals in navigating their challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Counselling Services: Provide individual and group counselling sessions addressing a broad spectrum of psychosocial issues.
Psychosocial Assessments: Conduct detailed psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and strengths developing personalized treatment plans.
Risk Assessment: Complete comprehensive risk assessments evaluating factors such as safety mental health status and potential for harm.
Care Coordination: Engage in systems navigation and care coordination collaborating with external health providers to support clients treatment plans.
Referrals: Identify and refer clients to appropriate community resources and support services facilitating access to necessary care.
Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention during crisis situations ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and uptodate client records including assessment results treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Professional Development: Stay informed about current practices emerging trends and relevant legislation in the fields of counselling and social work.
Qualifications :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work Psychology Counselling or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counselling or social work role preferably working with diverse populations facing various psychosocial issues.
