The Opportunity: We are seeking innovative adaptable and passionate Software Engineers ready to tackle complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer you will be a key member of a crossfunctional development team inventing designing building and testing software products for a worldwide customer base. You will contribute to cuttingedge payment technology shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
The Work:
Develop code and systems impacting 40% of the global population while influencing Visa internal standards for scalability security and reusability
Collaborate across teams to create design artifacts and develop bestinclass software solutions for various Visa technical offerings
Drive product quality improvements enhance service technology and innovate business flows within diverse agile teams
Create robust scalable products for a wide range of customers including enduser merchants B2B and business to government solutions
Utilize cuttingedge technologies to build nextgeneration Payment Services Transaction Platforms RealTime Analytics and others contributing to company growth
Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities
Essential Functions:
Aligns enhancements and modifications to existing software coding standard processes and design specifications across regions and ensures they are aligned with current security standards.
Guides the implementation of automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools across regions and supports development and implementation of new automation identifying where investment will yield the greatest efficiencies.
Maintains communication with regional leadership across functions to monitor and direct the cadence of code reviews oncall rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
Leverages backend technical expertise on underlying systems/platforms across the organization to lead the development systematic improvements in processes to ensure the fulfillment of customer/business objectives.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all these characteristics. For instance we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but did not work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 23 set days a week (determined by leadership/site) with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 810 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD
Master degree in Math Science Engineering or Computer Science Information Systems or related field AND minimum seven (7) years of experience in a directly related field. OR
Bachelor degree in Math Science Engineering or Computer Science Information Systems or related field AND minimum nine (9) years of experience in a directly related field. OR
Minimum twelve (12) years of directly related experience.
Programming Languages: Knowledge of and ability to develop code in one of the languages C# C JavaScript Java in support of product development. This includes the extension of capabilities of packages and products.
Web Browser Optimization: The ability to select the best available values of some objective function to improve the functional effectiveness of web applications.
API Design and Development: The ability to design develop and maintain Application Program Interfaces (APIs) a set of routines protocols and tools for building software applications that specify how software components should interact and are used when programming graphical user

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 510% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 160600.00 to 232900.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on jobrelated factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
