Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join their team responsible for maintaining and servicing multiple properties across Connecticut. This role involves performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks ensuring the safety functionality and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to manage tasks across multiple sites effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical systems.
- Repairs: Perform repairs on fixtures equipment and structural components such as doors windows drywall and flooring.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and resolve issues effectively.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards building codes and company policies.
- Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of tools equipment and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Recordkeeping: Document maintenance and repair activities including inspections repairs and preventative tasks.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with site managers contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or similar role preferably in a multisite setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC plumbing electrical and general building maintenance.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. HVAC EPA or electrical) are highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects climb ladders and work in various environmental conditions.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license for travel between sites.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours including oncall for emergencies.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
Work Locations:
The position requires travel to multiple sites within Connecticut ensuring the functionality and safety of all assigned facilities.
