Job Description
Ramboll is seeking several experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Managing Consultants at multiple locations across Canada. Our preferred locations are:
- Vancouver
- Ontario
- We are also open to considering qualified candidates who can work remotely and may be based in other locations in Canada.

Your new role
You will bring your knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) into play as you coordinate statutory EIA and nonstatutory environmental assessment processes required to support major development proposals primarily in the energy sector including wind solar mining hydrogen CCUS transmission and energy storage. To succeed in this role you will be able to apply an understanding of environmental consulting processes in Canada as well as an understanding of EIA process and regulations and will have the opportunity to support projects at various stages in the project lifecycle from earlystage feasibility/risk appraisal through EIA to consent condition compliance. A structured inhouse training and development program will provide this knowledge and help personal career development.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Being part of a team to deliver a robust EIA survey management stakeholder engagement and consenting advice to support consent submission.
- Developing trusted advisor relationships with both Ramboll colleagues supply chain partners and our clients
- The daytoday contact with the client to ensure we are meeting project objectives and client expectations.
- Designing and executing complete projects of moderate to substantial size and complexity.
- Conducting independent technical analyses and directs technical analyses of others.
- Advisory skills in relation to preparing materials for stakeholder meetings and public consultations and participation in public consultation
- Demonstrating ability to present complex technical concepts effectively both orally and in writing so clients regulatory agencies and legal groups can easily comprehend them.
Your new team
While located in Canada you will be part of our Global Impact Assessment Spearhead and associated with our US Impact Assessment department. The Spearhead has been established to drive further growth across Rambolls global client base and specialization in Impact Assessment building on our existing successes through a continued focus on national impact assessment work alongside targeting large strategic projects no matter where these occur within our geographic strongholds or beyond.
Our US business employs over 1000 environmental science professionals in several locations and covers a breadth of consulting services structured around impact assessment compliance strategy and transactions new initiatives and sustainability product safety and stewardship contaminated land and Water. Our clients include US and global multinationals utilities local and central government and international institutions. Qualifications :
About you

These include:
- Bachelors to Doctorate degree in the Environmental Sciences Environmental Engineering or a related environmental discipline
- 10 years of experience in the professional consulting industry working on Impact Assessment and permitting of complex projects. PK1 Experience on Social Impact Assessment First Nations support and/or International Finance Standards/Equator Principals would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Conducts assigned tasks without supervision
- Manages own time independently to complete assigned tasks
- May delegate parts of own work to others
- Provides training/mentoring to less experienced staff
- Clearly communicates work results to supervisor colleagues and clients
- Provides a supporting role in client contact (client meetings client communications).
- Contributes technical and business content and assists in managing proposal preparation or independently manages proposal preparation.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- An attention to detail and the ability to approach issues in a clear and logical manner
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Our ideal candidate will also have experience with Canadian federal and provincial permitting legislation and processes preparing EIAs SIAs and/or ESHIAs stakeholder relationships (including engagements with indigenous communities) and environmental elements of international financing requirements. A background in these disciplines would be preferred but is not required for the position.
