Structural Engineering II

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Structural Engineer III to be based in the Boston MA office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs structural design for buildings and transportation structures and prepares related engineering calculations and structural modeling.
• Building types may include but are not limited to commercial buildings government buildings rail stations and airport terminals.
• Prepares structural analysis and Revit BIM models for various structures and coordinates with different disciplines 3D models.
• Provides technical or operational guidance to graduate engineers.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staffs specific area of expertise.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• May conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Coordinates with other inhouse engineering disciplines as needed.
• Signs off and approves their own work.
• May telecommute.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a:

• Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering Civil Engineering or related field
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Structural Engineeringrelated occupation.

This position requires experience in the following:

1. Structural Analysis and modeling software including ETABS STAAD RAM SAFE SAP RISA 3D Visual Analysis Perform 3D and Abaqus;
2. Structural Drafting Tools including AutoCAD REVIT and MicroStation;
3. Structural Design tools including TEDDS SAP2000 Mathcad SpecsIntact spColumn spBeam spWall and Enercalc;
4. Familiar with current structural engineering code and regulation including CBC IBC ASCE 7 ASCE 41 ACI 318 ACI 530 AISC 341 AISC 360 NDS and SDPWS;
5. Structural building design including highrise building historical building retrofit metal stud construction steel modular housing posttensioned construction twostage analysis building masonry building and light woodframe building.
