You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Head of Data Governance will be responsible for developing implementing and overseeing the Data Governance strategy framework policies and practices. They shall be responsible for ensuring that data across the organization is accurate consistent secure and compliant with relevant regulations with a strong focus on mitigating data risks. Working closely with senior leadership and crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment between Data Governance initiatives Risk and Compliance frameworks Data Protection Framework and strategic business goals.
This is a 2nd line global role where reporting to the Head of Risk you shall coordinate planning and monitoring activities as per strategy and ensure reporting to committees boards and appropriate internal forums provides an enterprise view of data risks.
Role and Responsibilities
Maintain and enforce Data Governance framework policies procedures and standards to ensure compliance with local regulations and global frameworks and standards.
Build and manage the Data Governance team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute the overall Data Governance and Control frameworks ensuring alignment with the companys strategy and regulatory requirements.
Support management of the operational data lifecycle model from collection to disposal ensuring current Record Retention Schedules are in place and practices adhere to Record Management Policies.
Ensure effective Data Governance practices are defined and embedded across all functions and aligned appropriately to group practices to address key data risks including security privacy access retention and quality issues including the development and provisioning of training programs as required.
Assist with shaping the existing Data Management strategy and ensure alignment with overall group strategy.
Drive the setting and measuring of KPIs to define base quality of data and program improvement across the business.
Work with other Risk Team members and Line 2 and control functions to provide support and challenge.
Lead crossdepartment projects monitoring and remediation programs as required.
Management of key stakeholders to promote a culture of data awareness and supporting the Head of Risk in coordinating planning and monitoring activities with the Risk Departments strategy as required.
Perform other duties as assigned and incidental to the work described above
This role is a Controlled Function (CF) role under the CBI Fitness & Probity regime.
Qualifications :
University degree in Computer Science Math Finance Accounting or an equivalent combination of education.
Work Experience
Candidates will require at least 5 years experience within a leadership role in data governance data management or related field.
Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Essential
Experience leading an oversight team in a high paced environment
Experience in data analytics activities including cleansing formatting and reporting.
Proficient with IT architecture and database systems with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical teams
Strong working knowledge of financial services and fund servicing operational processes.
Comfortable with ownership of Policy and framework design and execution of same.
Proficiency with Data Governance and data management tools.
Indepth understanding of data privacy laws and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR CCPA etc.).
Preferred
DAMA CDMP certified or equivalent alternatives.
Experience with Data Modelling and ETL (Data Flow) processes.
