Job Description

The company is looking for an experienced Durability Manager to join our team in Puebla Mexico.

Main duties:

Main tasks related to the Management of DUR department in IDIADA MX Office:

  • General management
    • Take responsibility over all the activities (technical and nontechnical) performed by DUR team
    • Keep constant communication paths between Mexico and HQ to discuss BOs quotations and projects
    • Periodically report department status to the US director in USA and to the Head of Durability in HQ
  • Business development
    • Perform commercial actions
      • Cooperate with KAMs to detect BOs
      • Visit customers
      • Attend customer workshops and sales meetings
      • Prepare commercial materials (presentations leaflets videos )
    • Generate development plans for short mid and longterm scenarios
      • Analysis of product portfolio; strengths and weaknesses
      • Forecast future needs
    • Perform analysis of investments for new equipment/facilities
    • Expand suppliers network and forge cooperation
  • Intelligence
    • Analysis of the market trends
    • Monitor competitors in Mexico: capabilities prices
    • Attend congresses and fairs
  • Financial management
    • Issue monthly shipments
    • Monitor department expenses profit and margin
    • Scale down to project figures to understand results
    • Follow up WIP and DSO figures
    • Manage invoices payments and overdues
    • Provide financial figures and forecasts to the US director and to the Head of Durability in HQ
  • HHRR
    • Develop team technical capability
    • Empower employees to grow within the department/company
    • Motivate the team to achieve job satisfaction and commitment.
    • Define training plans for the employees
    • Analyze and forecast manpower future needs
    • Manage new employees requests defining main duties and requirements
    • Interview candidates to become new employees and take decisions for hiring
  • OHS
    • Make sure all employees are properly trained to understand the risks of the activities they are performing
    • Make sure all employees are following all IDIADA internal rules for OHS
    • Provide the team will all necessary equipment to perform the requested activities
  • Quality
    • Guarantee all activities are performed according to quality standard defined by the company
    • Monitor quality indexes (KPI) customer surveys and complaints
    • Manage nonconformities
    • Raise and manage Improvement Opportunities
  • Innovation
    • Think out of the box to provide innovative solutions to our customers
    • Create IDEADAS for innovative products to be developed
    • Forge relationships with institutes and universities
  • Project management
    • Prepare quotations forecasting revenue cost profit and margin for the project
    • Handle the quotation process and acceptance process through DIANA
    • Manage the project through PAMPOL
    • Periodically monitor the project figures to understand deviations

Qualifications :

Specific requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience on DUR testing and development
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering
  • Previous experience in complete development projects for OEMs is an asset
  • Strong knowledge on testing validation activities and execution
  • High technical Durability background
  • Knowledge on charging systems & in New Energy Vehicles is an asset
  • Strong experience with test equipment/data logging ETAS INCA IPETRONIK
  • Advanced user level of data processing applications: NI DIADEM
  • Strong skills on Microsoft computer applications: Word Excel Powerpoint .

  • Previous experience living and working abroad is recommended
  • With demonstrated adaptability to new environments and capability to properly manage cultural difference
  • Prepared to work in a dynamic international and multicultural environment.
  • With skills for taking independent initiative and exhibiting creative problemsolving
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
  • Previous experience managing technicallyadvanced requests from customers
  • With a high sense of responsibility and risk management
  • With eagerness to learn while training other employees from the department
  • With excellent teamwork attitude
  • Open to travel intensively around Mexico and to other countries if it is necessary
  • With commercial skills to clearly explain department capabilities and emphasize with customers needs
  • Fluent English and Spanish
