The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) has an opening for a ECAB DAT Associate in its Case Management Services Unit. In this position the ECAB DAT Associate is responsible for providing clerical support to the DANYs Case Management Services Unit and DANY.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reviews Desk Appearance Tickets (DAT) packages to ensure accuracy and completion.
Prepares DAT files for the arraignment court part.
Assigns DATs and related work to appropriate DANY staff.
Notifies police officers to appear in in the office to draft complaints.
Assists DANY personnel with DATs questions.
Enters and maintains DAT information in office tracking system.
Acts as liaison with NYPD in tracking missing DAT packages.
Works with ECAB supervisor to ensure efficient management of unit operations.
Perform data entry using prearraignment database system.
Perform clerical and related tasks within the DAT Unit.
Collate and file material and search files for relevant material.
Check records for accuracy of information and conformity with established policy.
Respond promptly to inquiries from police officers and Assistant District Attorneys.
Answer telephone inquiries and redirect calls appropriately.
Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements candidates must possess the following:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
Previous clerical experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Access. Ability to update and edit existing proprietary databases.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies procedures and guidelines.
Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
Must be able to perform under pressure in a fastpaced environment detail oriented and selfmotivated and able to multitask.
Ability to interact with all levels of staff law enforcement representatives and outside visitors.

Additional Information:
Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Two (2) years commitment to the hiring unit.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
