Job Description
- Act as the technical and professional program expert for all aspects of underground work on behalf of the client in the process of managing and approving program design deliverables.
- Provide a technical assessment of the designs developed by the line managers identifying the suitability of the proposed solutions and alternatives the cost and schedule implications and the risks and opportunities.
- Ensure alignment of civil/structural aspects of the program with the requirements of operations and maintenance and the rail system.
- Be responsible for the implementation of the civil and structural aspects of the Design Standards and Criteria Manual (MDSM) based on international engineering best practices and with reference to the clients existing Design Standard Manual all applicable regulations applicable design standards in force in Israel and international design standards applicable to a metro project
- Be responsible for the implementation of the civil and structural aspects of the Design Task Guide for the entire metro network
- Monitor the implementation of and compliance with the MDSM the Design Management Procedures and the Design Task Guide by Line Managers Network Designers Line Designers and all other programme participants for civil and structural aspects and in particular for underground works
- Advise the client on civil engineering works and more particularly on underground works.
Qualifications :
The candidate should be/have:
- Senior engineer with at least 15 years experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects especially urban masstransit schemes.
- Experience in the design construction and/or supervision of underground masstransit structures including stations (Cut & Cover mined etc) tunnels (TBM and Cut &Cover) shafts junction boxes highways at grade structures etc.
- Involvement throughout project lifecycle but especially in the early stages of project development including option identification / evaluation and value engineering is desirable.
- Experience of working from the Clients perspective is desirable.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in civil or structural engineering.
