The salary for this role is 79638. Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week however we actively support requests for flexible working.  

Employees of UKIFS can be based at either of our sites; West Burton Nottinghamshire or Culham Oxfordshire.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and be eligible for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years) including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

The Role  

The Head of Financial Strategy role will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of the company ensuring the company achieves its business objectives by providing advice and guidance and financial strategy.

As Head of Financial Strategy you will be responsible for creating and leading UKIFS Financial Planning and Analysis capability working across the company and its Partners to deliver strategic insights and decision support tools to senior decision makers. You will be responsible for establishing and leading the creation of the companys medium and longterm financial plan ensuring that it has the resources to achieve UKIFS strategic objectives and deliver the STEP programme.

You will support the Finance Director in the financial transformation to a registered company that leads a complex major programme with large delivery partners from industry. Whilst this is an exciting challenge you will need to be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity as we build UKIFS Ltd. and its team. You will be helping to lead the establishment of a major programme and limited company at its foundation stage. This will provide you with an opportunity to set strategies and design and embed new procedures and processes.

Key Accountabilities:


Qualifications :

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA ACCA CIMA)
  • Excellent financial skills gained in a complex organisation of significant size and responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles
  • Excellent analytical and modelling skills
  • Extensive experience in strategic finance roles and ability to understand and exploit wider strategic context to the advantage of the company
  • Excellent ability to operate influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to apply finance and business principles to organisational financial strategy
  • Effective communications skills with ability to analyse interpret and communicate complex data to a wide audience outside of the finance function including programme delivery teams and other key senior stakeholders and inspire confidence in taking relevant stakeholders methodically through complex financial information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships work effectively across matrix teams and support senior stakeholders both internally and externally

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a matrix and projectbased environment and with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in major and complex procurement initiatives
  • Experience in working in related roles outside of finance including strategy or commercial roles
  • Experience working in both public and private sectors.
  • Public Sector Finance Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific regulations processes and governance frameworks applicated to public sector organisations in the UK.
