Job Description

Summary of Position

The Community Safety Manager establishes and implements plans for ongoing community engagement focused on incident and hotspot specific outreach longerrange truce negotiation and conflict mediation by building partnerships with community partners local businesses property managers school personnel and other stakeholders and ensuring ongoing coverage by the Community Safety Team.. Additionally they support the Community Safety Team Members in working alongside Resource Navigators to support participants directly impacted by violence to ensure connection to traumainformed services to promote healing reduce retaliation and reduce reinjury.

Program Coordination

  • Serve as a core member of the leadership team including Community Support Team Manager Resource Navigation Manager Restoration Service Manager Data and Communications Manager and Hospital Based Interventionist to help ensure a comprehensive plan for the entire family

  • Work alongside community partners schools businesses property managers etc. to plan events and/or consistent presence in areas where Street Team presence would be beneficial in mitigating recurring incidents

  • Cocreate and implement standardized referral policies and workflows with Resource Navigation Manager to ensure all potential participants are assigned to Street Team Members and Resource Navigators based on best fit and capacity

  • Prioritize referrals by their urgency and addressing them in a timely manner including a review of details and expectations about the referral with the Street Team


Program Management

  • Steer the implementation of best practices as identified in coordination with Executive Leadership

  • Work with other Program Managers within CP to collaborate on best practices and identify means of collaboration as appropriate

  • Oversee program deliverables and results

  • Ensure compliance to regulatory and funder requirement

  • Lead programmatic visioning and implementation of services. Align services and programming with community needs participant needs and funder/contract expectations

  • Submit ontime accurate reports required by funders and the agency. Attend all funder and agencyrequired meetings and represent Community Passageways on panels committees and workgroups as needed

  • Report to Chief Program Officer and CEO to ensure program budget data and service compliance

  • Prepare for internal and external audits

  • Attend all required training team meetings and professional development opportunities

Staff Support

  • Alongside HR Director coordinate and facilitate hiring onboarding conducting regular evaluations coaching and ongoing training

  • Set clear attainable goals with Street Team Leads and Members and hold performance reviews encouraging learning and educational opportunities both professionally and personally

  • Conduct consistent (weekly or bimonthly) oneonone supervisions with Street Team Leads and Members to review upcoming outreach and hotspot remediation expectations participant service plans barriers to attaining goals and successes as well as professional development opportunities

  • Ensure case notes and other files are completed by Street Team Leads and Members

  • Identify patterns in data collection to Contract Monitor for follow up trainings for data integrity

  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and ensure notes are taken

  • Coordinate overall staffing plans and program leaves or vacation requests ensuring appropriate coverage for program


Coordinate Outreach

  • Build partnerships with community partners park & rec centers local businesses property managers school personnel and other stakeholders to plan and implement ongoing community engagement events including:

    • Popup events in areas of recurring incidents

    • Positive presence building (community bbq s resource provision prosocial engagement activities etc.)

    • Positive place space supports (e.g. Safe Passages)

    • Community healing projects

  • Coordinate with Community Support Team Manager and other partner organizations to create monthly schedules that ensure coverage for ongoing community engagement and outreach activities

  • With the Community Support Team Manager coordinate representation at vigils and funerals to:

    • Leverage relationships in community/crowd to help mitigate tensions/escalations

    • Provide verbal deescalation and mediation

    • Offer support and raise visibility for communitybased public safety

    • Provide coordination with other public safety professionals as needed


External Relations

  • Serve as the program contact for community government and other partners. Maintain those relationships and facilitate meetings with partner organizations as needed

  • Build and maintain referral connections with social services and other community institutions. Ensure staff familiarity with available resources



Other

  • Participate in meetings as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality as per agency guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Clinical training and expertise in mental health disabilities, substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health, and substance use disorders Supervision of programs or facilities in a clinical setting or relevant training, education, or certification around supervising staff in serving clients in high acuity clinical needs, such as case management programs, residential clinical services, health care settings and other clinical service provision. Supervision experience managing a caseload and case conferencing to help teams coordinate and provide linkages to needed services. Experience with populations with high-acuity needs. De-escalation training and/or demonstrated experience. Experience navigating and/or working with or in the criminal legal system
