AECOM is actively seeking a midlevel geologist for employment in the Portland ME office to be a task leader for a variety of environmental projects (i.e. Remedial Investigations and Site Investigations) for primarily Federal sector clients with a primary focus on projects involving PFAS or per and polyfluoroalkyl substances. PFAS are a set of emerging contaminants for which AECOM foresees a significant growth in its business. In this important position the successful candidate will support Project Managers as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
Under the supervision of a Project Manager the successful candidate will:
The ideal candidate must be able to work with discipline independently effectively lead junior staff while working in a collaborative teamenvironment foster team building through respect inclusion and mentorship display a high level of organization and communication and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects a positive attitude willingness to mentor junior staff and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. For the right candidate this position holds significant growth potential into project management positions.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Geology or related science
4 years of postgraduation relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must have a valid US drivers license.
Due to the nature of the work US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of postgraduation relevant experience in environmental consulting (i.e. Remedial Investigations and Site Assessments) for Federal State or private clients.
Remedial/Site investigation remediation planning or design experience.
Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills) organization time management and an individual who thrives in a teamoriented environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel Access Word PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
Professional Geologist License or preparing for Professional Geologist registration.
Field experience overseeing industrystandard drilling and monitoring well installation methods. Experience logging soils using the USCS and rock logging.
Experience with CERCLA RI/FS RCRA and RD/RA projects with commercial or DoD clients.
Experience with digital tools for field data collection.
Experience performing environmental investigations at DoD facilities.
Technical Skills Life cycle cost estimating basic fate and transport modeling and excellent technical writing skills.
Certificates OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER Training and current refresher certificates.
