Job Description

Job Title: Assembly Technician Integration Engineering

Duration: Longterm contract

Location: Merritt Island FL 32953

Prescreening questions:

1. Have you ever used a torque wrench If so what steps would you take if you added a 2inch extension with a crowsfoot to ensure you meet the torque callout

2. Can you translate the acronym FOD into its full description

3. Have you worked in aviation or aerospace if so what commodities and systems have you worked with Hydraulics Pneumatics gaseous pressure systems Krytox application

3418 C shift Fri/Sat/Sun (5:00 AM6:00 PM)

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture assemble and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures.
  • Set up new production work areas including tooling and equipment.
  • Assist with the transition from development to production including first articles.
  • Perform secondparty verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models drawings specifications and written procedures.
  • Troubleshoot diagnose and correct malfunctions by modification rework repair and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts overhead cranes aerial lifts flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment trucktrailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required.
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including but not limited to torque wrenches micrometers calipers laser tracker height gauges and optical measuring instruments.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily cleanup of work areas to support 5S FOD and ESD
  • Ability to work offshift extended overtime and weekends if/when vital.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills fields and background
  • Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • 5years of experience in aerospace manufacturing integration or another relevant field
  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install instrumentation and electrical harness routing general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.
  • Interpret engineering models drawings specifications written work instructions and test procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills fields and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately in writing and in person.
  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows Microsoft Office etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areas.
  • Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.
  • Perform repetitive work including lifting of items up to 35lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Industry certification trade school training and/or degree in related field
  • Proven success as a handson technical leader
  • Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fastpaced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
  • Continuous improvement attitude. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving.
  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
  • Experience in handling large aerospace components
  • Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.
  • Experience in new product introduction
  • Experience in a teambased Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs.
  • Military experience
