Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to join our dynamic R&D team. The successful candidate will contribute to the formulation and development of new skincare products as well as the improvement of existing formulations. This role involves handson lab work data analysis and collaboration across teams to ensure that products are safe compliant and aligned with market needs.
Key Responsibilities
Formulation & Development:
Lead the development of innovative skincare formulations from concept to production scaleup. Focus on ingredient selection efficacy and stability.
Product Testing & Evaluation
Perform and oversee testing for product stability safety and performance. Conduct invitro and invivo testing when necessary and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Ingredient Research
Conduct research on active ingredients raw materials and new technologies in the skincare industry. Stay updated with trends and innovations to incorporate into formulations.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze experimental data and generate detailed reports on findings. Present results and recommendations to senior management and crossfunctional teams.
Collaboration
Work closely with crossfunctional teams including marketing quality assurance and regulatory affairs to ensure formulations meet consumer expectations and regulatory guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure that all products and formulations comply with local and international regulations (e.g. FDA EU etc.) for cosmetic safety.
Process Optimization
Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of R&D processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of product development workflows.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry Cosmetic Science Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 45 years of experience in formulation development preferably in skincare cosmetics or personal care products.
- Strong understanding of skin biology and the science behind cosmetic ingredients.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques equipment and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetic products (e.g. FDA EU regulations).
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in crossfunctional teams.
- Experience with natural or organic skincare products.
- Familiarity with product claims substantiation and clinical trials.
- Proficiency in formulation software and tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and ecofriendly product formulations.
