Job Description
SGS is looking for a Coal Technician on a casual basis to timely and quality sampling preparation and analysis of samples for internal and external customers.
After full training you will be responsible but not limited to:
- Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
- To ensure accuracy precision and traceability of prepared samples.
- Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
- Follow routine and nonroutine sampling instructions
- Opportunity to obtain nationally recognised qualification if desired
Qualifications :
SGS will provide you with full training as required and on the job learning but as the successful candidate you will also have:
- Previous experience in a fast paced physically active industrial environment
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable with a strong customer focus
- Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be an advantage.
- Some computer skills i.e. Excel would be beneficial.
- A valid drivers license and reliable transport are essential.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work shift and rosters and meet tight deadlines.
